Finding A Unique High School Fundraiser

As a member of the Parent Teacher's Association, or a parent of a child on an athletic team, in a school club, or involved in any extra curricular activities, you have certainly had your fair share of high school fundraisers. You have probably spent hundreds of dollars on useless items like cookies and trinkets as well as wrapping paper and other items that you will never use. More likely than not you have bugged your coworkers, family, and friends into buying things for your children's fundraisers. You are probably sick of the usual fundraisers ideas! Instead of difficult and boring fundraisers where you end up buying things you will never use, you want a high school fundraiser that will actually be interesting and beneficial to all involved.

Think Outside Of The Box

The best thing you can do when trying to come up with a high school fundraiser is to think outside of the box. There are countless fundraising companies out there who will do anything in their power to get your money. But that is the thing—while they are there to help you earn money, they are also there to raise money for themselves. Because of this, you will end up paying a price and not getting the full amount of money you could get by doing something yourself. In addition, these companies are often times selling products that are subpar and are also at inflated prices. Your potential buyers know this. Because of this, many people simply do not purchase items from the fundraisers for the products, but to help the organization. If this is the case, it would be better to simply ask for a donation as your high school fundraiser instead of going through a middle man and only getting a small percentage of the profits.

Auction Fundraisers

A great high school fundraiser as well as elementary school fundraiser that really is outside of the box is an auction fundraiser. With an auction, you ask local businesses, organizations, companies, and parents to donate products and or services for the auction. You then auction the item off to the highest bidder. This is great because you will get one hundred percent of the profits because everything is donated. In addition, people will be willing to spend more than they normally would for that basket filled with bath and body items because they know that the money will all be going to their child's organization.
